Beniboba Princewill: Energy-Zapping Comparison

The other day I was watching a reality show on TV, and all I could think of was why I wasn’t born into that family so I would have their money, influence and the power they wielded. They just seemed to have it all together with their designer outfits, amazing friends and their “perfect” lives on social media.

We live in a world obsessed with appearances to an extent that it is idolatrous. Comparison abounds all around us, from the list of the world’s most beautiful people, Forbes richest list and even to the Fortune 500 list. There’s this pressure to conform, to compare our looks, our families, our relationships and even our talents to that of others so very often. We compare even without thinking of the consequences of our actions, forgetting that by beating ourselves up, we’re hurting in the process.  We often say to ourselves: “I’m not good enough”, “They are better than me”, “I’m better than them”.

God has a specific plan for you and you won’t accomplish that plan by looking at others.

Be who God created you to be. Everyone else is already taken.

One of the fastest ways of discouraging yourself and getting trapped by the sin of envy is when you compare yourself to others. God has a specific plan for you and you won’t accomplish that plan by looking at others.

Count your blessings and not the blessings of someone else. Let God control your life and give Satan no opportunity to discourage you from the purpose God has for you.
Know that all you need is Christ.
Set your mind at peace by focusing on the Lord.

There is no partiality in God’s eyes, and your worth is found in Him instead of the opinion of others.

Be who God created you to be. Everyone else is already taken.

Don’t compare your inch with someone else mile. Everyone is on their individual spiritual journey. We’re all going through different things. Comparison is a game you will never win at.

When we compare, we forget that God made us incomparable. It’s unhealthy nor does it help your spiritual journey. Human nature loves the approval of others.

Happy Easter folks!

♥Bible Quotes for the Day:
John 19:17-19  KJV
John  19:17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:  19:18 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.  19:19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
