Does Having a Spouse Complete Me?

Hi everyone! How have you all been? Great I hope. Sorry I haven’t been posting for a while, like I said earlier I’ve been trying to sort some things out. There are different things happening at the moment and it’s overwhelming.

So you wonder. . . Have I sorted them out?

No. I’m still on it but I’m working on posting as frequently as I can. (Maybe I would share what’s been up with me, and lessons learnt, as time goes by) Thanks to all who checked up on me and offered words of encouragement. God bless you plenty.

Now unto today’s topic!

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall become united and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. [Matt. 19:5; I Cor. 6:16; Eph. 5:31-33.]
Genesis 2:24 AMPC

In this very interesting world we live in, I’m sure we would have heard that a spouse completes us. And we as Christians also seem to follow that line of thought.

Is it true?

Does it mean if you’re single you’re living an incomplete life that only having a partner can solve?

In what way does a spouse complete us?

This topic came up at me twice during my morning devotion and I wanted to ask here. So what do you guys think?

Please share in the comment section.

Would loooovvveee to hear from you guys. Let’s talk it out and understand what this completion thing is really about.

P.s Would let you know more about the stories here soonest. I know you guys have missed them 👍

  1. Well in my view I think a spouse doesn’t complete a person
The Bible which says that “therefore shall a man and a woman” was referring to two seperate complete being. That is why the name and the woman have seperate surnames cause they are different and complete. Now when they become married they produce a new complete being( They are both called with one general name). So it means that marriage is made for two complete being to unite to become a new complete being.
I used the surname for clearer understanding

  2. We have sure missed you!
So proud of you and all you are and are doing. You are a wife, mother and called by God. GOD sees all your labour of love and will reward you even with your talents.

Would be back on this completion topic. Hmm

  3. Col 2:10 tell us we are make in Christ. Hence wether single or married our completeness is in Christ as he author and finisher of our faith.
