THINK, ACT, CHANGE FOR CHRISTMAS
When Tope told me I was getting the Christmas slot on this site I was excited, then later I realized I wasn’t sure of what to write, so I left it. Ignored it totally. I removed the thoughts from my mind and focused on other things and what to say/write would came. It usually does.
So I would share with you all what I shared with my teenage audience that I get the pleasure to speak with monthly. I said, and I’m saying again, ‘for this season, look for Jesus Christ and put Him key in all you do’.
Let’s pause and think about it a little. Christmas is now being called XMAS. Instead of saying the Christmas season people now say the holidays. But I stopped to ask . . . Who is the reason for the season and festivities and how do we put it back in?
Jesus is the reason for the season. It’s supposed to be a time to celebrate his birth. He who knew no sin, took on all the sins of the world that we may be united with God.
So it brings about an interesting question. If Jesus were to be on earth today 25th, December 2015, how would he celebrate. What actions would He engage in. Yeah, He may be surrounded by loads of food, presents, gifts, family, laughter etc. but what exact actions will He carry out? Think about this for 30 seconds.
Now comes the interesting part to this rather short article. ACTION. Knowing what Christ would have done is just a step in the ‘Think Act Change’ family. You then need to act on it. How do you put Jesus Christ in Christmas. Definitely it’s very likely to be a selfless action. I mean, Jesus hardly did anything for Himself, He was always moved by compassion for the people.
For my birthday, 23/11/2015, I decided to raise 200 copies of a particular devotional for inmates against Christmas. Had a month and some days to rally and harass my friends and family, plead, beg, cajole, blackmail, etc. Just to get it done. I know the inmates would not be able to thank us enough but for the love of Christmas I was compelled.
My challenge to you is think of a way to put Jesus Christ in your Christmas this year and see the change occur in the lies of those around you; starting from your life.
Until next year, I remain Omotosho Oladapo, lead speaker Think Act Change #TAC, saying Merry Christmas and a prosperous, barrier-breaking New-year.
GO FOR IT.
THIS CHRISTMAS THINK ACT CHANGE.
