Hi fam… Hope you all are doing great! I know I haven’t posted in in a while and some have asked why there hasn’t been Separated this week. Just going through a couple of things now that I would probably share later on. Would post Separated on next Monday and I would make it lengthy. Love you guys. Enjoy today’s article. 🙂
John 3:16 Amplified Bible (AMP)
16 “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His[One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.
This passage is widely known, but then do we understand the meaning? Do we truly accept the love of God into our hearts?
If you talk to some people about Jesus and tell them Jesus loves them, they nod and say they know. But do they really? Do we really know the love of God?
He showed us how much He loved us by sending His Son (Jesus) but not many believe this. And for many that do believe do we grow in His love? Do we believe that He truly loves us?
I remember one day when I went for evangelism and I spoke to someone about the love of God. I told her God loves her and she said she knew. I asked her how she knew God loved her and she couldn’t say anything.
Of recent I’ve been asking God to let me know more of His love and know if He still loves me. I know what His Word says about His love for me, but I just wanted to know more; more of how He loves me ’cause some days everything just feels off and I get sad and wonder why certain things are happening. Sometimes I even get depressed.
It just kept coming to mind how God has been faithful. How I wake up each morning to see another day. How He provides for me each day and supplies my needs when I least expect it. How He cheers me up when I’m down…
We may see all these things as normal but they aren’t.
After I said that prayer, asking God to show me He loved me, I almost got hit by a car. I was standing right infront of my husband’s car holding an umbrella. We were about heading to church and he had to reverse to get the car out of the compound. Instead of going backwards the car revved forward and came towards me. I was shocked and couldn’t move.
Would you believe the umbrella I held bent and I didn’t fill a thing? The car hit a car behind me but didn’t touch me. I wasn’t hurt.
Later on that day it came to mind that I had asked God to show me His love. . . And He did! There was another incidence too but it just shows more of God’s love and faithfulness.
Why Do You Think God Loves You?
Because of your status in society? You think you’re so rich and He sees you as important or you think you’re so poor and He feels extra pity for you?
Because of how beautiful you are?
Because of the work you do for Him?
Because you show kindness to other people?
or because of any other thing you would like to add?
No. God doesn’t love you because of anything you have done. He doesn’t love you because of what He thinks you will do for Him in the future. He loves you just because it’s who He is. It is His nature to Love. God is Love. He loves you crazily and with so much passion that you can’t even understand. The first step He took to show you His love was by giving something precious to Him. His Son.
1 John 4:10 KJV, “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
In the old testament, God made His love known to the Israelites but they didn’t quite understand this love because they kept going back to worship other God’s who could never love, provide or be faithful to them like He was.
Deuteronomy 7: 7-11 AMP
7 “The Lord did not love you and choose you because you were greater in number than any of the other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. 8 But because the Lord loves you and is keeping the oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed (bought) you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Therefore know [without any doubt] and understand that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who is keeping His covenant and His [steadfast] lovingkindness to a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; 10 but repays those who hate Him to their faces, by destroying them; He will not hesitate with him who hates Him, He will repay him to his face. 11 Therefore, you shall keep (follow, obey) the commandment and the statutes and judgments (precepts) which I am commanding you today.
Psalm 106:20-23 AMPC, “Thus they exchanged Him Who was their Glory for the image of an ox that eats grass [they traded their Honor for the image of a calf]! They forgot God their Savior, Who had done such great things in Egypt, Wonders and miracles in the land of Ham, dreadful and awesome things at the Red Sea. Therefore He said He would destroy them. [And He would have done so] had not Moses, His chosen one, stepped into the breach before Him to turn away His threatening wrath.” [Exod. 32:10, 11, 32.]
There are so many ways God shows His love to You. It may be in little ways you count as insignificant, and it could be in big ways we describe as miracles. In whateverway, look out for how He shows His love to you. He didn’t do it once by sending His Son to die for us and that’s all. He still shows it in our everyday lives.
And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience) and believe (adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God cherishes for us. God is love, and he who dwells and continues in love dwells and continues in God, and God dwells and continues in him.
1 John 4:16 AMPC
The question is,
Do you believe His love for you?
