Looking In the Mirror

Looking In the Mirror

Hi fam. Hope your week has been awesome. Mine was a lil up and down but God’s been faithful.  I couldn’t post Separated this week, but hopefully next Monday it would be back.
In the meantime, here’s a little post from me. I hope it encourages one or two people as it did me when I got this exposè from the bible passage. . .

2 Corinthians 3:18, ‘And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and  from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is ] the Spirit.’

I never thought myself to be beautiful. Yes, I knew I was pretty, but beautiful? Not exactly.  I may be beautiful on the outside, but the inside says otherwise.

Little by little I look into the mirror now and I see myself more like Him. I know it’s only by the grace of God.

My selfishness is being traded for kindness.

My anger is being traded for patience . . . Long-suffering.

My hurt and hatred is being traded for love.

I’m not there yet, but I’m not discouraged. . . but then each time I look into the mirror I remember how far I have come from the prettiness I once saw to a beautiful person.  The devil may try to lie to me and try to convince me that I’m a failure. That I can’t be perfect like God wants me to be. (Matthew 5:48)

But it’s all a lie.

God’s grace is sufficient.

Yes, I’m becoming more and more beautiful.  The bible let’s me know that I would change from one degree of glory to another.

Irrespective of where I am right now. . . God loves me. He loves me! He is not letting me go. His love is fighting for me to get better. Even when I want to give up on myself when things seem to go wrong; His love is fighting for me to keep on.

I need only keep studying His Word to know who I was and who I am now and who I can become.

I was filthy. My righteousness. . . the good I thought I was . . . was just filthy rags. I cannot buy right-standing with God or earn it. I need just believe in Jesus.

And now,

I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

I am the light of the world. The salt of the earth.

I am more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ.

I have the love of God in me and it’s growing as I get to understand the height , breadth, width, depth of His wondrous love.

I have the Light of the Gospel in my heart. 2 Corinthians 4:6-7

I am not perfect, but I have been given God’s grace to live a holy life. I may stumble and fall along the way to perfection, but God is ready to pick me up, dust the dirt off me and urge me to keep going.

I look into the mirror and what do I see?

I see someone who’s in the process of becoming more beautiful.

Love Quote for the Day:
One who has been touched by grace will no longer look on those who stray as “those evil people” or “those poor people who need our help.” Nor must we search for signs of “loveworthiness.” Grace teaches us that God loves because of who God is, not because of who we are.
Philip Yancey
