Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle. Romans 12:9-10 MSG
Love from the center of who you are. . .
In NCV it says, your love must be real.
Which brings the question, Are there times we show fake love to others?
One of the qualities of love, according to 1 Corinthians 13, is it isn’t Selfish.
Truth be told, there are times we ‘show’ love to others. We say we do what we do out of love or the kindness of our hearts but deep down we know our motives are wrong. We want to be like Jesus. We want to Love like He wants us to. But sometimes our love comes out as selfish. I know there have been times I wanted something for others but then there’s the afterthought that it’s also going to be of benefit for me. So my first motive of doing it is for what I can get, not how the other person would feel.
Love your neighbour as you love yourself.
Are there times we fake loving someone when deep down we know we can’t stand the person and want to leave as soon as possible? You’re just feigning concern and smiles?
I came to this realisation a couple of weeks ago and I want to get better. I want to love the way God wants me to. I want to die to myself and let God love through me. What about you?
Check your heart: Are you really doing what you do out of love? Do you truly love the person?
💗Love Quote: We should always remember that love is the highest gift of God. All of our revelations and gifts are little things compared to love. – John Wesley
